We Celebrate Another Successful Season Even as
our Beach Athletes are Still Competing on the National Stage

A5 Family,
As our Beach players are completing their season and we shift our (indoor) focus to next season, we reflect upon and celebrate Individuals' and teams' accomplishment over the course of this season. Following is a recap of the 2017/18 Season By the Numbers:
3 National Championships were won: A5 South 15-Joe won a USAV Championship in the 15 National Division. A5 16 Scott won an AAU National Championship in the Premier Division and a USAV National Championship in the USA Division.
2 of these Championships were won by the same team -- A5 16 Scott -- the second time in A5 history that a team has achieved this milestone. (The first was 2016 A5 16 Gabe, who won both AAU and USAV Nationals in the 16 Open Division.) Check out the piece about 16 Scott on prepvolleyball.
25 Teams qualified to compete at the USA Volleyball National Championships - second-most in the country and a record for our organization.
10 of our teams qualified to compete in the highest division offered in their age bracket - tops in the country.
1st team from Chattanooga to qualify for USAV Nationals in many years was A5 Chattanooga 14 Duane. They competed well, finishing 31st in the American Division
1st team from A5 South to win a National Championship (in the USAV 15 National Division) was A5 South 15 Joe
71 graduates from A5 Family's class of '18 will be playing in college this Fall. Of all our club's accomplishments, this is the one of which I am most proud; the metric that just blows my mind. If there's another club in the country sending half this number of athletes on to play at the Next Level, I don't know who they are.
7-1 record by A5 South over their primary Southside rival (15's and older).
5th - that's Prepvolleyball's final National Ranking for A5 17 Jing. A5 17 Marcchecked in at #63.
8th - Prepvolleyball's final National Ranking for A5 16 Gabe - a four-spot improvement from preseason #12. A5 16 Scott finished the season #35.
4th is Prepvolleyball's final National Ranking for A5 15 Bob(a). A5 South 15 Joeclocked in at #29, and A5 15 JJ finished at #62.
Triple Crown Sports' National Rankings for Teams and Clubs will come out in a few months. We will share one last Number with you at that time.
